Off-Topic Discussion Forum Policies (Read Me)

[ Edited ]

Hey everyone,

First and foremost, the MAG Forum is a community dedicated to gaming-related discussion for hardcore PlayStation consumers, not general chatting. Obviously, eliminating the OT altogether would not be a wise choice, as it does serve its purpose. We feel that a OT with clear guidelines and consistent enforcement would better fit the mold and serve the community in a positive, but not overwhelming manner. The basic idea here is to still allow for Off-Topic Discussion (Discussion, not Chat) while not losing the focus of a gaming community.

Off-topic Forum Policies:

  1. The Off-Topic Forum is here for discussion, not to be used as a chat room. Such chat threads are subject to lock or deletion.
  2. Spam is unnecessary, and will not be tolerated on this forum, or any other forum for that matter. Topics with little to no substance may be subject to immediate deletion.
  3. The Off-Topic Forum is not here for discussion of politics, religion, or controversial topics. Additionally, offensive and inappropriate content is strictly prohibited. “Off-Topic” does not mean “anything goes”. Please observe the rules set forth by the New Users Guide and Official Rules of Conduct.
  4. Reoccurring threads such as “Post Your Desktop!” and “Post Your Picture!” may be limited to one at our discretion. Multiple threads are simply not necessary, and may be subject to deletion. Such “controlled” topics will be announced by the Moderating Team as necessary.
  5. Please note that posts on this forum do not count toward your post count. Please keep in mind that this is a gaming community and that messages contained within OT are not gaming-related.

One of the biggest complaints about OT boards are the amount of spam and random chatter. Please do your part to make sure it doesn't fall. If you see some one violating these policies, breaking the rules, or just causing a problem, use the "Report Abuse to a Moderator" feature. Under no circumstance should you try to take matters into your own hands. Additionally, posting messages such as “reported” or “lock” really aren’t necessary. Just report it and let us take care of it.
